Xerxven

This is one reason I love being an artist: I was looking at a beautifully illustrated book on angels tonight and was inspired to try my hand at a series of angels. Xerxven was originally in a group of angels, but when I realized how sexy he was, I decided that he deserved a frame all by himself. I love how the wings and the hands turned out. I also like the texture in the hair. As such, I wanted to preserve the sketch details by not adding any color. So, you can imagine that he's any color you like. I'd originally pictured black hair with blue highlights, complete with a black outfit, to deviate from the typical blonde/white-gold ethereal look.

Yes, I did it completely by hand with mechanical pencil in the sketchbook.
